Here is my short throw shifter that I cut myself. As you can see I cut it much shorter than most people and the center console is removed. All I did was cut 3-4" off the end with a standard hack saw. I am using an aftermarket Momo knob and it went right on. Easy, and Free.

The passenger seat in these pics has been removed.
